Here are some answers to my most frequently asked questions:
1) Have you won any awards?
Yes! YALSA named FIX a popular paperback. BOYS ARE DOGS is an Amazing Audio Book. And the ANNABELLE UNLEASHED novels have won a bunch of state and readers’ choice awards. Thanks, everyone!
2) Where do you live, and with whom?
I live in Los Angeles, California with my husband and children and our six-toed genius dog.
3) Is your dog really a genius?
Probably not. Then again, we’ve never had her formally tested so who knows?
4) Do you have any hobbies?
Yes! I love to read, write, travel, hike and cook. I’m also into yoga and triathlons.
5) What is a triathlon?
A triathlon is a three-sport race. First you swim, then you bike, then you run. The races are totally exhausting but fun and exhilarating, too!
6) Have you always lived in California?
No way! I spent a lot of my childhood in Los Angeles, and recently moved back but I’ve lived in a bunch of cities:
• Norwalk, Connecticut
• New York City
• Brooklyn, New York
• Worcester, Massachusetts
• Boston, Massachusetts
• London, England
• Santiago, Chile
7) When is your next book coming out?
SECRETS AT THE CHOCOLATE MANSION, the third MAGGIE BROOKLYN MYSTERY, will be out in September of 2013
8) Will there be more Annabelle and Maggie books?
Yes! The fifth ANNABELLE UNLEASHED NOVEL is called MONKEY BUSINESS. I’m writing it now! The fourth MAGGIE BROOKLYN is untitled, so far. In fact, I need to come up with a new mystery. Anyone have any ideas?
9) Did you always want to be a writer?
Always, always, always… and I’m lucky it’s worked out so far!
10) Do you have any advice for aspiring authors?
Write what you love and read as much as possible.
11) If I write to you will you write me back?
I will try! Feel free to email me here: email@example.com

12) Can you speak at my school?
Maybe! I’ve travelled far and wide and near and narrow to speak to kids of all ages at schools, libraries, writing camps, workshops, graduations, book fairs and festivals. I spent three summers leading fiction-writing workshops at 826NYC in Brooklyn. And I’m currently teaching creative writing at Writopia, Los Angeles. I love meeting enthusiastic readers and reluctant ones, too. And I’d be honored to speak at your school either in person or via Skype. Thanks so much!
